Just over a week before Christmas, we held the Solwit Update Meeting, our regular meeting to summarize the year. A festive atmosphere filled the air this time.
We met with over a hundred #solwitteam members on-site and arranged a streaming event for those scattered throughout the country. While reconnected, we also recognized those whose contributions benefited our community. We celebrated more employment anniversaries (this time with almost 20 people!). The Solwit Development Academy trainers were particularly appreciated, as they devoted long hours to training sessions (often virtual ones). Our managers recognized as many as eight people and two project teams with special awards. Big congratulations to you all!
In keeping with the Christmas spirit, we also hosted a Christmas charity auction, the results of which were beyond our expectations. Those members of the #solwitteam who wore Christmas jumpers, Santa hats, or reindeer horns on this day fulfilled a good deed. Solwit will plant more than 60 trees in the spring, one for each person dressed in festive attire.
Thank you for a beautiful afternoon together – for all the laughter, banter, and touching moments. And we look forward to meeting you again!
