Testing the virtual cash register mobile application and preparing for certification

A revolutionary product must be thoroughly tested

Our client has developed a pioneering mobile virtual cash register application for the Polish market. It was subject to the current regulations governing fiscal cash register operation upon release for distribution and had to pass the Central Office of Measures certification. Prior to the certification process, the application needed to be tested for functionality and compliance with statutory requirements verified by the Central Office of Measures (PL GUM), hence, the client was seeking a technology partner who could prepare the software for certification and perform the work promptly and efficiently. Our previous implementations have proven that we can be trusted, and this game-changing product only encouraged us to step up to the plate.

Manual testing of a mobile application and its partial automation

Solwit’s team of ISTQB-certified test engineers conducted functional tests of the application, covering more than 35 extensive scenarios described in the documentation of the Central Office of Measures, as well as exploratory tests. Following an analysis of the COM documentation, our team automated some of the tests, thereby preparing the mobile application for a continuous testing process as part of its ongoing development. Through the use of the Appium framework and Java language, further automated test scenarios could be developed rapidly.

Having worked on the Virtual Fiscal Cash Register project almost from the beginning, I witnessed its development and the tremendous amount of effort put into it. The dynamic and constant changes made the project challenging, but it ultimately ended with immense satisfaction. Working with the WKF team is a pleasure.

Dawid Wesołowski, Test Engineer

Application ready to be certified!

Following application testing, we advised the client of functional bugs that needed to be addressed by the software developers. Our team worked with the client’s project team to automate tests for subsequent cases and prepare the certification application. We liaised with the Central Office of Measures on our client’s behalf. The goal has been accomplished- the COM-approved Virtual Fiscal Cash Register Online can be downloaded from the Google Play store and installed on a selected Android device.

The team involved in the implementation of our products has demonstrated the competence and commitment necessary to carry out testing under the certification of the General Office of Measures. In addition, they also pointed out a list of functional areas for enhancement by our developers. Solwit’s engineers, collaborating on the project, have shown remarkable discipline, proactivity, and a high cooperation culture. Team members work independently and do not require additional involvement from our employees. Test results are delivered on time and according to schedule.
