In 2023, Solwit began celebrating one of the most meaningful occasions a company can commemorate – the employment jubilees of our employees. Here’s the story of our first celebration together and why we decided to toast the employment jubilee.
First, a historical note. In 2022, a series of “Solwit Gravity” meetings kicked off. It was one of their goals to identify those areas of our company that would be somewhat attractive and perform like gravity for our current and future employees and customers.
The company’s board of directors, managers, and team leaders attended the meetings. We wanted to hear our employees’ voices as much as possible in this program. A motion raised during these workshops was appreciation. To be more precise, to appreciate those who have built their careers within our organization over the years. There could be no way to ignore this – after all, the people who make up Solwit are our greatest asset.
Rolling up our sleeves and sweating under our brows, we created a program to honor our long-time associates. We chose to celebrate three anniversaries – the 5th, 8th, and 11th – and since anniversaries usually involve gifts, there were plenty to be had. “There is no such thing as the perfect gift” – that is a fact, hence why we decided to create our cafeteria and give our jewelers a choice. One goal was set – the anniversary gift should provide the opportunity to relax, unwind, try new things, build beautiful memories, or purchase a unique gadget that will last for years to come.
The plan of action was already in place, the rules and regulations were written, and the gifts had been selected. Nevertheless, we had to ensure the proper setting to inform the #solwitteam about this upcoming benefit. Our Solwit Summer Party was fast approaching, so we couldn’t think of a more fitting way to celebrate employment jubilees.
Thus, the official launch of the program and presentation of the first awards took place on June 7 at the Jungle in Gdansk. However, this day was doubly special – we honored not only jewelers celebrating their 5th, 8th, and 11th anniversaries. This time, on a one-off basis, we decided to expand the group to include those whose aforementioned anniversaries had already passed (meaning, those who have worked with us for 6, 7, 9, 10 and 12 years). So the group numbered about 90 people – impressive, right?
We have received a heap of positive feedback from our employees regarding our newly introduced benefit, celebrating employment jubilees, that is. As a result, we know it was worth creating a tailor-made program. It was intended to express appreciation – it’s pleasant to see that it has also been appreciated.
This year, we will be celebrating with 125 people. We are delighted by this result, reaffirming our commitment to Solwit as a great workplace. Thank you for that!
